School Information:
Huntley is a Kindergarten to grade 8 school that is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year. Huntley is located in a small tight knit community just outside of Ottawa Ontario. The school population is around 525 students, with both an English and French Immersion program. Our students are very active in the community and participate in numerous extracurricular activities.
The scheduled contact was established at 18:46 UTC with IRØISS via IK1SLD. During the scheduled contact ESA Astronaut Paolo Nespoli answered all 14 questions, using the Kenwood Radio in the Russian Service Module. There was plenty of time for a nice greeting before the LOS. Signals from the ISS were loud and clear during the whole pass.
More than 600 people attended the event. The event was covered by TV/newspaper.
